Membership Process
The Process
From early 2020, the committee has implemented a new process when nominating a new member. Please note that the proposer is now more involved in each of the three steps of the process.
Step One:
Before lodging any forms, the proposer must contact a member of the new membership sub committee. (see table below with contact details). Each of the Brisbane clubs are represented on the sub committee and if possible, we suggest Brisbane based club members to speak with their corresponding committee member. For other members, please contact any of the sub committee members.
Step Two:
After speaking with one of the new membership sub committee, the proposer should complete the proposal form (with the assistance of the nominee). He should then organise a seconder and three referees to complete their forms. All forms are submitted via the website.
Step Three:
Subject to committee approval, a meeting will be organised by the proposer to include
- Proposer (or seconder if proposer is not available),
- Nominee and
- New membership sub committee member (or any other committee member if not available).
This will be a short meeting to talk about history and governance of the Society, reiterate the membership commitments of all members, run through the golfing program, as well as addressing the ethos of the Society.
For clubs outside Brisbane, we will need to hook up by phone or skype
